After receiving the bulbs, the following 3 parameters should be controlled:
Temperature: Bulbs should be stored between 7°C to 13°C, depending on bud development. When the longest bud is 3 cm or more from the top of the neck of the bulb, they can be stored at 13°C. When bulbs have just sprouted or are close to sprouting, they should be stored at 7°C to avoid continued bud growth.
Relative Humidity: The ideal condition is between 70-80%; when humidity is higher than 80%, there is high risk of developing mold. To keep the relative humidity under control, electric heaters can be placed in the cooling room, warming the air and helping the cooling system dry the air.
Ventilation: It is best to circulate the total volume of air at least 35 times per hour.
